Primary Function:
We are looking for a Training Quality Manager to add value to NSAR’s training offer, including supporting external quality assurance of training provision, quality and continuous improvement in training delivery, and the quality of NSAR’s Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency (FJAA) work. Supporting the development and implementation of high-quality rail apprenticeship standards and assessment plans will also play a key role.
This individual will be confident and competent at working with employers, training providers and apprentices and will have overall responsibilities for managing key stakeholders and participants and supporting organisations to enable the best possible outcomes.

Location
Home-based with travel a key part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the external quality assurance for a caseload of rail training providers, delivering external quality assurance against the Quality Assurance Framework
- Conducting First-time Observation visits for new trainers.
- Supporting training providers on their continuous improvement journey and through the development of a Community of Practice for continuous quality improvement in rail-related training.
- Supporting the development and implementation of quality apprenticeship standards for rail employers, supporting their development through the refresh and publication.
- Staying updated on apprenticeship-related regulations and making necessary adjustments to programs.
- Implementing the agreed business plan to support the delivery of the Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency (FJAA) programme, acting as the main point of contact and project manager for the FJAA programme.
- Liaising with employers, training providers, DfE and apprentices to ensure clear communications for all supporting suppliers and manage expectations as required.
- Liaising with providers to ensure training curricula and materials meet the needs of apprentices and industry demands, working with subject matter experts to develop relevant and up-to-date training content.
- Monitor apprentices’ progress and provide coaching or additional support as needed.
- Overseeing the delivery of training for both off and on-the-job training.
- Staying informed about industry trends, best practices in apprenticeship training, and changes in educational methodologies.
Essential Attributes:
- At least five years’ experience operating within an independent training provider, further education position, or within an employer-provider setting.
- Team management and strong organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills – written and oral to include public speaking.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – able to build rapport quickly, influential, and supportive.
- An experience of creating and developing high-quality solutions with both public and private funding.
- Experience of working across an organisation, commissioning suitable partners, and managing key stakeholders to achieve a common goal
- Ability to manage complex and political environments in a pragmatic and professional efficient manner.
